South Carolina Services

A group of services designed to help individuals build, improve, and maintain the everyday skills needed to function successfully at home, in school, at work, and in the community. These services may include Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Behavior Modification, and Family Support, and work alongside therapy to support overall progress and recovery.

Locations: Statewide

An evidence-based and well-supported trauma-informed treatment model of home-based family therapy. The primary utilization of this service is for stabilization of the family, prevention of removal from the home, and reunification should a youth be placed in foster/kin/congregate care. Designed to increase family health and well-being, promote attachment and resiliency, and develop functional solutions for maladaptive patterns. Includes 24-hour staff availability. Assigned practitioners are assigned no more than four families. Length of service is no more than six months.

Short-term, in-home services that help families build stronger, safer, and more stable home environments. These services provide support such as parenting education, connection to community resources, and help meeting basic needs, with the goal of keeping families together and preventing involvement in the child welfare system.

Outpatient mental health services offer support and treatment to individuals who are experiencing mental health symptoms. We can also help our clients with co-occurring disorders. This program is created to be strength-focused and recovery-oriented. We offer a comprehensive range of flexible and responsive interventions tailored to the client and their family’s needs.

Our compassionate clinical staff evaluates and treats the effects of mental health and co-occurring symptoms that impair an individual’s ability to function. Through personalized treatment, the goal of this program is to empower clients in their recovery using short-term, evidence-based, and trauma-informed approaches. We offer treatment for children, adolescents, and adults for the following conditions, in addition to many others:

• Depression
• Anxiety
• ADHD
• Grief
• Anger Management
• Bipolar Disorder
• Oppositional Defiance Disorder
• Attachment Disorder
• Trauma
• Sexual & Physical Abuse
• Substance Use (pregnant women are given preference for admission)

Our clinical staff utilizes cognitive/behavioral approaches and other therapeutic services to teach families new skills so that the client/family can more effectively manage their lives.

Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI) is a questionnaire used to better understand parenting beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. It helps identify strengths as well as areas where additional support or education may be helpful, so services can be tailored to support healthy and safe parenting practices.

Locations: Statewide

A medically necessary treatment for children with adverse childhood experiences, as well as emotional, behavioral, medical, or developmental needs, providing structured treatment within a therapeutic foster care setting. This program promotes well-being, family connections, and community integration. Therapeutic foster care includes compassionate and professional staff who support the foster families and youth by providing a range of services including:

• Supervision.
• 24-hour staff availability.
• Coordination of medical treatment when necessary.
• Foster parent training in behavior management and various treatment approaches.

Transitional services offer goal-oriented rehabilitative services to help youth transition from congregate care into family and community settings. It addresses the challenges youth face in engaging with their families, understanding their surroundings, and adapting to community schools and social environments.

• Smooth Transition: Facilitate youth movement from congregate care to family-based settings including therapeutic foster homes, biological, kinship, and adoptive homes.
• Skill Development: Focus on personal and interpersonal skills, social support networks, and community engagement to build confidence and stability.
• Reduced Recidivism: Minimize the need for re-entry into higher levels of care and reduce disruptions in community placements.

A program designed to help parents and caregivers build healthy, positive relationships with their children. It focuses on teaching skills such as effective communication, appropriate discipline, emotional understanding, and creating a safe, supportive home environment to promote a child’s growth and development.
