Youth Support Services

HealthConnect America provides in-home services aimed at children who are displaying unruly or delinquent behaviors, or are “latch key” children and unsupervised. These services address truancy issues, low self esteem and the child’s inabilities to cope with their daily lives.

Services
HealthConnect America offers a wide comprehensive range of flexible youth support services tailored to the individual child’s needs. Services are available during the peak hours when children usually get into trouble, or are at home alone, i.e., afternoons after school, early evenings, weekends, and summer months. Transportation is provided as needed.

These services may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Mentoring services to improve self-esteem and provide positive role models;
  2. Tutoring services;
  3. Engaging the child in recreational activities; and,
  4. Advocacy services that work closely with school to help families and children with school difficulties in accessing the appropriate educational placement for staying in the local school system.

Approaches Used
Our program is designed to help the child gain perspective and learn tools for life, including accountability, responsibility, integrity, respect and self esteem. Our caseworkers customize the services based on the child’s individualized needs to result in lasting changes.

Staff Competency
Caseworkers that address youth support services must have a minimum of two years experience in direct interventions working with youth. They also must be proficient in anger management and values clarification.  Additionally, our caseworkers will have demonstrated educational competence and met guidelines regarding experience and educational requirements. Other forms of monitoring to ensure continued quality care include direct performance observations as well as the administration of written examinations and skills testing.top of pagetop
