Alcohol & Drug Assessments
The caseworkers assigned to perform these assessments are qualified substance professionals as defined by the Tennessee Bureau of Alcohol & Drug Services. As part of their qualifications, our caseworkers receive initial and ongoing training in the most current assessment and intervention methods.
When caseworkers are assigned to do assessments, they utilize a combination of face-to-face interviews, combined with collateral information. In addition, they utilize nationally recognized assessment instruments that include (Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI); and computer assisted software called Addition Severity Index (ASI).
Urine Drug Screening
HealthConnect America will administer in-home drug screenings as needed. Based on the information collected, HealthConnect America will make recommendations for treatment, if necessary, to all legal parties involved for the welfare of the child.
Alcohol & Drug Counseling
Alcohol & drug counseling is administered at the point that there is proof of a drug use problem. A regimented treatment plan is developed by HealthConnect America to obtain, perform, coordinate and monitor treatment services for children and any family members identified. Suggested treatments may include attending Alcohol Anonymous meetings, or have home intensive outpatient treatments. Our caseworks are like coaches to these patients, guiding and counseling them to be sure they stay on track with their treatment program.
Alcohol & Drug Education
HealthConnect America caseworkers go directly into the home to work with the children who may have been experimenting with drugs and/or alcohol. Their role is to educate the children on the effects, health and legal ramifications of using drugs and/or alcohol.
